SNIP is pleased to announce we have continued funding from San Francisco’s Department of Children Youth and Their Families (DCYF) to provide training and technical assistance to San Francisco Out of School Time (OST) programs. The primary focus for technical assistance (site specific coaching and consultation) will be San Francisco community based OST programs funded by DCYF.
SNIP is fortunate to continue our partnership with Instituto Familiar de la Raza and Hillcrest School to provide support and training as the transform their extended day program to be inclusive of children and youth with disabilities.
A new training curriculum has been developed by San Francisco After School for All about the AFA Core Competencies for OST supervisors and line staff. Core competencies are the abilities of staff to apply specific knowledge and skills to their professional practice. In other words, the core competencies are the key ingredients necessary to make a successful after school staff. SNIP is pleased to have been able to participate in developing the training – don’t miss us in the video clip at the end of the Core Competencies training for supervisors. The training will be available soon on the After School for All website.
Please note that SNIP’s 2011-2012 workshop descriptions and schedule, along with the related AFA Core Competencies, can be found here.
